I then asked myself the same question: How do I define an <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"SEO Sem\u00e2ntico\" href=\"https:\/\/semantico.com.br\/blog\/en\/Vocabulario\/seo-semantico\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0221\/entity\/seo-semantico;http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0221\/entity\/seo__semantico\" >SEO<\/a>? How do I explain this to my <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"informa\u00e7\u00f5es\" href=\"https:\/\/semantico.com.br\/blog\/en\/Vocabulario\/informacao\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0221\/entity\/informacao;http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0221\/entity\/otimizacao_para_motores_de_busca\" >mother<\/a>?  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My profession has the problem of having the same word to define what the <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"campo\" href=\"https:\/\/semantico.com.br\/blog\/en\/Vocabulario\/campo-informatica\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0221\/entity\/campo-informatica\" >field<\/a> is that we work in (Search Engine Optimization) and the professional who works in that field, the SEO (analyst, specialist, etc.).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Intelig\u00eancia Artificial\" href=\"https:\/\/semantico.com.br\/blog\/en\/Vocabulario\/inteligencia-artificial-3\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0221\/entity\/inteligencia-artificial-3\" >then<\/a> I started thinking about different ways that different <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"funcion\u00e1rio\" href=\"https:\/\/semantico.com.br\/blog\/en\/Vocabulario\/trabalhador\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0221\/entity\/trabalhador-2\" >professionals<\/a> define SEO. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For me, SEO is not a set of techniques but a strategic vision that needs to be aligned with the objectives of the <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Neg\u00f3cios\" href=\"https:\/\/semantico.com.br\/blog\/en\/Vocabulario\/negocio\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0221\/entity\/negocio\" >business<\/a> where I work, regardless of the role. Some people do not agree with me, which is completely natural, and because of this they define the same activity in a completely different way from mine. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People who define SEO the same way I do, who see the role of <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Semantic\" href=\"https:\/\/semantico.com.br\/blog\/en\/Vocabulario\/semantica\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0221\/entity\/semantica;http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0221\/entity\/semantica\" >Semantics<\/a> in our work, call SEO Semantic. <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Google Brasil\" href=\"https:\/\/semantico.com.br\/blog\/en\/Vocabulario\/google\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0221\/entity\/google\" >Google<\/a> pushed us in this direction and the way we define our professional activity changed with this movement. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you want to watch the video below, I discuss further how this different definition changes the way I (and many other professionals) work today differently from the traditional SEO market, but in this text I want to go further.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"the_problem_of_defining_concepts_in_information_retrieval\"><\/span>The problem of defining concepts in information retrieval.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we talk about <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Entidades\" href=\"https:\/\/semantico.com.br\/blog\/en\/Vocabulario\/entidade-informatica\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0221\/entity\/entidade-informatica;http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0221\/entity\/entidade-informatica-2\" >entities<\/a>, the fundamental building blocks of what we call a knowledge graph, generated through the creation of <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Taxonomia\" href=\"https:\/\/semantico.com.br\/blog\/en\/Vocabulario\/taxonomia__trashed\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0221\/entity\/taxonomia__trashed\" >taxonomies<\/a> and ontologies, we are talking about a problem to <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"ser\" href=\"https:\/\/semantico.com.br\/blog\/en\/Vocabulario\/ser\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0221\/entity\/ser\" >be<\/a> constantly faced: ambiguity.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How do we know which entity we are referring to when I mention, for example, the word Jaguar?<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Jaguar can be an automobile brand.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jaguar can be a soccer team.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jaguar can be an animal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Which jaguar are you talking about? Through context, we naturally and almost instantaneously perform disambiguation. This term also has several meanings, depending on the area of <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"conhecimentos\" href=\"https:\/\/semantico.com.br\/blog\/en\/Vocabulario\/dados\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0221\/entity\/dados;http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0221\/entity\/conhecimento;http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0221\/entity\/ontologia;http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0221\/entity\/entidade_informatica\" >knowledge<\/a> that deals with it; for example, disambiguation in <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"Lingu\u00edstica\" href=\"https:\/\/semantico.com.br\/blog\/en\/Vocabulario\/linguistica\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0221\/entity\/linguistica\" >linguistics<\/a> is linked to the &#8220;process of clarifying a message that has more than one meaning. An ambiguous term is, then, one that conveys a confusing message or instruction and that can be interpreted in more than one way.&#8221;   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Wikipedia we see that:<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Disambiguation is used both in writing and in speech, in sign language, and even in computerized systems\u2014when two objects (or actions, or adjectives, including concrete and abstract terms) have the same name.<\/p>\n<cite><a href=\"https:\/\/pt.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Desambigua%C3%A7%C3%A3o\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/pt.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Desambigua%C3%A7%C3%A3o\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Disambiguation in Wikipedia<\/a><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you access Wikipedia you have already seen the disambiguation <a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\" title=\"p\u00e1gina ao\" href=\"https:\/\/semantico.com.br\/blog\/en\/Vocabulario\/pagina-web\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0221\/entity\/pagina-web\">pages<\/a>.
