Featured Snippets

Featured snippets are short pieces of text that appear at the top of Google search results to quickly answer a searcher's query. They are also known as Position Zero.

For certain queries, usually questions (i.e., who/what/where/when/why/how), Google sometimes displays a special block above the organic search results.

A Featured Snippet contains a summary (in the form of a paragraph, list, table, or video), the publication date, the page title, the link to the source webpage of the response, and the URL.

These "organic response boxes" appear at the top of SERPs for certain queries.

The content that appears within a featured snippet is automatically retrieved from web indexed by Google.
