Tim Berners-Lee

Sir Timothy John Berners-Lee KBE, OM, FRS (TimBL or TBL) is a British physicist, computer scientist, and professor at MIT.

He is the creator of the World Wide Web (Internet) , having made the first proposal for its creation in March 1989.

On December 25, 1990, with the help of Robert Cailliau and a young CERN student, he implemented the first successful communication between an HTTP client and a server over the internet.
