Indexing
Indexing, for SEO , is the storage and organization of content found during crawling.
Search engine algorithms identify the content of your website's pages in order to organize them and create your URL index.
This process happens all the time, and ranking is the subsequent ordering of this indexed content, which will be displayed in the SERPs, that is, the results that are generated according to user searches
Indexing in Library Science
As an integral activity in the thematic processing of information , indexing aims to understand the content of documents, identifying terms that represent their subject matter, in order to reference them for better information retrieval in catalogs and information retrieval systems.
Indexing emerged in the context of the so-called "bibliographic explosion" after World War II for bibliographic control in specialized documentation centers. The concept arose from the creation of indexes and is now linked to the concept of subject analysis
